Best Birdsong ever
Great Show- I was there - a rarity indeed! The First set ending with Birdsong didn't a happen often, this version was truly hypnotic- My wife actually turned to me and said she's probably the only person in the audience that didn't have a clue where everyone just went ... the entire audience was mesmerized. So true. I've been to 100's of shows since 1967, and never experienced anything like that!

Wish U Were Here
Dear Jerry,
Why? Why? I'm hurting. You should still be here. I miss you and it hurts when I think about it.

Most underrated show of 80's
Sure I'm biased because i was there and had my face melted off. BUT I challenge anyone to listen to every song played and tell me where there is ANY sloppiness. There isn't any... although 6/18/89 was sloppy as hell the 19th was close to perfection.
Can't understate how different Garcia and the Boys' approach was that night...Franklins slide segue jammed into Walkin no break, and I knew IT was ON. Candyman NEEDS to be listened to with headphones...Healy had the sound phasing in circles during the "come round again" verse...psychedelic much? oh man...!
The band exuded a relaxed happy confidence during every song played that night, resulting in many "personal best" versions of songs we all heard many times. Saw a couple hundred shows but none were like this...Superior to every night of the bally-hooed Alpine run IMHO.
With only 4 stars here I felt obligated to propagandize not only for the sound quality which is awesome, but for this often overlooked GEM, apologies for long winded-ness :D

DON'T FORGET JOANI AND PAUL!
This is another Charlie Miller jem, but lets not forget Joani Walker and Paul Scotton for providing the soundboard tapes to begin with! They are always overlooked! Great sounding show with a few mistakes, but who really cares!!! 1989 was an EPIC year for the band!

NFA !
Humming along in the summer of '89... This is a fun show. Great recording.
Stranger through Walking Blues is non stop. Jamming Bird Song to close first set.
Second set is good, but I agree the back half is exceptional! Most notably the Throwing Stones into NFA, complete with a Foolish Heart solo tease and syncopated backing vocals from Jerry and Brent. Standard beautiful Knocking to close.
So far I still love anything with Charlie Miller's name on it. Good show.

Totally great
Tons of highlights in this show! Killer quality board, Jerry could be a bit louder but it's all good. Essential Bird Song! Fat front end of set 2, loose and rippin back end. Love the throwing stones turnaround jam that they kick into in not fade away! never heard it like that. The knockin is a complete knockout, you can hear the love from the crowd after this very powerful version, played a few weeks after the passing of john cippolina.
This would be a FANTASTIC show to have a fob schoeps audience recording of on the archive.
